ACSA

Updating old fixtures saves water and money. If you are an Albemarle County Service Authority residential customer you may be eligible to receive free water saving devices. The savings that can be obtained are tremendous. Consider that a conventional faucet uses up to 7 gallons per minute (gpm) and by simply adding an aerator this can be reduced to 1.5 to 2.5 gpm. Installing low-flow showerheads also saves. A conventional showerhead uses up to 8 gpm, while low-flow types provide the same feeling of wetness with just 2.5 gpm. Save water used for flushing the toilet by adding a water displacement bag to the tank. Better yet, take advantage of ACSA’s toilet rebate program and replace your old water-guzzling toilet with a new low-flow type. Each ACSA household built prior to 1992 is eligible to receive up to three of each water savings device, including showerheads, faucet aerators and toilet tank displacement bags. They may also be eligible to participate in the toilet rebate program. To pick up your free conservation kit stop by the ACSA offices at 168 Spotnap Road during office hours Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm. Pre-qualification forms for the toilet rebate program are available by calling 434.977.4511.
